Seeking Haven for Mr. Rambo

Together for 40 years and my parents never watched their wedding film. The allegedly-lost 8mm film resurfaced and will be screened for the first time. It will shed light on the disappearance of my aunt Zahiya during the Mountain War in 1983, and reveal the secret that forced everybody to stay silent.

meet the director

After acquiring a degree in film studies, Cendrella Abi Gerges worked in film festivals and distribution. She joined Metropolis Cinema as a coordinator for Talents Beirut and youth programs. She participated in Beirut-Locarno Industry Academy in 2018 and is currently working with The Bureau Sales in Paris.

Natália holds an MA in Producing from FAMU. She produced acclaimed shorts like Vinland and Sea Salt, which were celebrated at festivals such as Venice IFF, Karlovy Vary IFF, and Cairo IFF. Currently, she is collaborating with emerging female directors. She is EURODOC and IDFA Academy alumna and a Czech National Film Awards nominee.
