Salimi – Untold Stories

Nidal, a Palestinian stand-up comedian, documents the final years of his mother, Salimi, aged 72. In 2017, while preparing a new stand-up comedy routine, Salimi suffered a stroke, leading to her passing. Salimi’s loss compelled Nidal to confront internal battles and unearth untold stories from his past, revealing a side of himself he had never dared to expose.

A theater actor and filmmaker, Nidal founded numerous independent theater and film projects in Palestine, including the play The Comedy Trio” (2012). Since 2010, he has presented hundreds of comedic performances addressing political and social issues in Palestine and beyond. In the realm of cinema, Nidal directed his first film, “Villagers,” in 2015, “30 of March” in 2013, and “Waiting for Godot” in 2019.
