Confined in a room in Cairo with her cousin Karima, Huda the cleaning lady, and Omar, her boyfriend, Sarah struggles to uncover what happened. Over 90 real-time minutes, we witness her odyssey as she gambles everything to disclose the truth: he is indeed her boyfriend, they engaged in premarital sexual relations, and he raped her last night.

She has over 14 years of experience working with actors and non-actors, facilitating storytelling workshops, documenting personal narratives, and directing theatre performances about women and gender-based stories.

Kesmat El Sayed is a producer and co-founder of “See Media Production” Cairo and “Seera Films Gmbh” Berlin, created to produce creative documentaries and fiction films by global Arab, Asian, and African filmmakers, amplifying systemically underrepresented voices. She has produced documentaries for established and first-time filmmakers, focusing on women directors and stories.
