2025

issue #4 :: December 2025

Do we end the year, or does it end us?
It has been a harsh year. All eyes fixed on Palestine and every heart breaking for Sudan have witnessed its severity. We barely survived it, yet strangely enough, we forged our hope from that very stubborn light. And in these lands, light can be found in every corner.

War did not stop in Palestine and Lebanon; it simply replaced one mask with another. It has not paused for a moment. Yet the world has never felt as uncertain as it does right now. Every attempt to predict what comes next leads us back to ambiguity. Everything is possible. From the Caribbean to the South China Sea, to the frozen North, uncertainty spreads. It is unsettling. It is humankind’s greatest source of anxiety, and yet within it lies open space for creativity and innovation.

Between the clash of major powers reshaping the global order, a shifting climate redefining production and supply chains, and the rise of a new phenomenon, technological feudalism, competing fiercely for vast resources, our Arab region and the depleted communities of the Global South can still hope for a brighter future and work toward it.
Here, we stand together as human beings. Here, we stand to rebuild the spaces shaped by history under the sun. Here, in a moment stuck in time, uncertainty becomes a source of hope. This very moment, full of potential, shines with stubborn brilliance.

We face the coming year holding onto that light, drawing from it the energy for all we have done and all we will do.
The opportunity is ours, the narrative is ours, and imagination sets the horizon.
