Hanging Gardens

Brothers As’ad (12) and Taha (28) barely scrape a living as rubbish pickers in ‘Hanging Gardens’ – Baghdad’s smouldering dumps. Then one day As’ad discovers an American sex doll. When he brings the taboo item home and presents her as a thing of beauty, Taha assaults his little brother for ruining their reputation. As’ad’s friend Amir (14) immediately recognises her money-making potential. Business rockets, raising their profile among local teens and the patriarch’s enforcers. As’ad has his own doubts about what he’s been allowing to happen, and when his treasure it stolen his fears are confirmed. As he and Amir go after the prime suspects, the local patriarch has the teens kidnapped and As’ad receives a cruel lesson he will never forget.
