For the Laid Souls

“For the Laid Souls” traces Zineb uncle’s profile Abdeslam Chefchaouni, a former political detainee. Through the portrait of her uncle, she will revisit a portion of the Moroccan contemporary history known as ‘Years of Lead’, a period marked by the repression of the opposing politician under the reign of King Hassan II. The film will consist of several segments about the personal history of Zineb’s uncle and her family, a history that is profoundly marked by major events of the Moroccan 70s-80s political history.
