Dancing on Fire

In 1928, in the pre-oil era, during the rainfall dance celebrations, love grows between Amoosh and Nafla, who fights to marry him despite her family’s disapproval. Her attempts to blend in with his family fail while he’s absent on long trading trips, leaving her lonely and depriving her of dancing, her sole source of joy. Nafla confronts difficult choices.

Hana Alomair is the writer and director of the short films: “The Complaint” and “Swan Song”. She’s the co-writer and director of the first Saudi Netflix original mini-series “Whispers” (2020), the writer of Sharshaf, the Saudi feature winner of the Red Sea Lodge grant (2020), and the showrunner of “Khoyout Almaazeeb”, a period piece shot in Saudi (2023).

Samir puts her passion and experience into developing impactful films for filmmakers from the Arab region. Her first feature as a producer and scriptwriter won a Red Sea Souk award in 2022.
