Essam Doukhou was born in Salé in 1989. After graduating from Higher-School of Graphics and Editing in Rabat in 2012, he continued his studies at the Multidisciplinary University of Ouarzazate obtaining a professional degree in film and audiovisual management in 2015. In 2014, his first short-film “Dalto” written, directed and edited, won the Cinécole-Grand-Prize at the International Film Festival of Marrakech. In 2016, his second-short, written and directed, “Anti-dream pills” made numerous international selections and won the Hypatia-Golden-Award at Alexandria Short Film Festival. In 2019, Essam co-wrote and directed his first TV film “The Star”, then a documentary-fiction feature-film “The poetry and music of the Sahara”. Essam now resides in Rabat and is about to finish writing his first feature-narrative film, “Another Night”.
