About Rym and Maryam

Two teenage twin girls from a working-class neighborhood in Tunis experience a train accident resulting in the amputation of one of their legs. When society fails them and leaves them to their fate, they must search for solutions to reclaim their lives and rebuild their identities. meet the director

Mirvet Kammoun is a Tunisian film director, screenwriter, and producer with a Ph.D. in Arts and Sciences of the Arts from Sorbonne University. Her first short film, Nejma, was selected and awarded at many festivals. In 2017, she released “The Noces d’Épines”, and “Hayat” in 2021, which received the Audience Award at the Geneva International Oriental Film Festival FIFOG in 2021.

Mark Lotfy is an Egyptian producer and director. He established “Fig Leaf Studios” in 2005, focusing on the work of emerging filmmakers, quickly rising to become one of the region’s most prominent independent production companies. Mark also established, with fellow filmmakers, “Cinedelta” an Independent Documentary Film School that aims to create opportunities for young filmmakers through exchanges with international film experts.
