meet the director

Bassam Mortada is a filmmaker, activist, journalist, and co-founder of See Media Production, which is dedicated to working on social injustice and activists’ biographies. His first feature documentary “Reporting a Revolution” premiered at the Berlinale Film Festival in 2012. He directed two short films, among them “Waiting for his Descent” winner of the first prize for documentary at the Jesuite Film Festival.

Kismet El Sayed is the main producer at See Media Production with Bassam Mortada. She produced “Reporting a Revolution” in 2012, and then founded the production company to focus on films that discuss social injustice and human rights.
