Beirut Cinema Platform Edition 6

We are delighted & proud of what Beirut Cinema Platform has accomplished in its sixth edition for this year, 2022.

The edition took off on April 7 and lasted for 3 days, during which the film teams of the 16 selected projects met with specialists and consultants in the field of filmmaking and production.

The jury members for BCP6 are Remy Bonhomme, the artistic director of the Marrakech International Film Festival and director of the Atlas Workshops; Nadia Benrachid, feature and documentary films editor; and Edward Baroudi, Director of International Sales and Distribution at Film Constellation.

BCP held numerous sessions around the films: 317 meetings, 4 workshops, 37 individual consultations, and a panel discussion. 65 international experts and 12 consultants participated in these sessions.

Our partners presented 6 valuable prizes to develop and support the success of these projects.

The winners of Beirut Cinema Platform 6 are:

“Embodied Chorus” – Lebanon: CNC Award of 8,000 euros cash prize

“Hamlet from the Slums” – Egypt: a special mention from BCP Jury

“Weedestine” – Palestine: ART Award of 5,000 dollars cash prize

“Specters of Al Hoot” – Sudan: Pop Up Film Residency Award offered to the director.

the Rotterdam Lab award; the participation of the producer, Rua Osman, in the Lab’s 2023 edition

“Thief of Fire” – Palestine: CINEGOUNA Award, the participation in CineGouna Springboard as a guest project

“Let’s Play Soldiers” – Yemen: IDFA spotlight Award, participating in IDFA’s next edition in a tailor-made program within the IDFA industry and training activities.
