We are recruiting a Director of Development

We seek a highly motivated and strategic Director of Development to lead our fundraising, program design, and outreach efforts. As a member of the executive team, the ideal candidate will develop and implement a sustainable fundraising strategy, ensure strong donor relations, and oversee institutional strategy, program design, and communication, working closely with the Executive Director and the director of programs. This role requires strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and a proven track record in fundraising and strategic planning.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities 

Fundraising and Donor Relations

Develop and implement a sustainable and effective fundraising strategy to address the organization’s financial needs.
Periodically identify and approach funding sources adequate to the organization’s budgetary needs.
Ensure all donor reports are submitted on time and produce an annual narrative report.
Maintain and update a fundraising tracker to monitor progress and outcomes.

Strategy and Program Design

Develop and maintain an up-to-date comprehensive strategic plan for the organization, in close collaboration with the Executive Director and the Director of Programs.
Consult with program managers at least twice a year to re-evaluate project designs and suggest necessary amendments.
Follow up on projects in development monthly to ensure timely progress.
Collaborate with the Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) manager to agree on M&E tools and methods for each program, ensuring they meet internal needs and donor requirements.


Outreach and Communications

Work closely with the Communications Manager to oversee the development and implementation of a clear strategy for overall institutional communications.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree and at least 5 years experience in development, fundraising, donor relations, grant writing, and strategic planning. 
Higher degrees are a plus. 
Knowledge of the Arab Independent Film Sector is required.
Knowledge of the Arab Civil Society Sector is a plus.
 
Overall Experience

5 years or more

 
Soft and Technical Skills
Exceptional writing skills, with a proven ability to craft clear, persuasive, and compelling proposals in English.
Excellent Presentation, written, and verbal communication skills in English and Arabic. French is a plus.
Organized and Detail-Oriented.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, and Google Docs environment.

Practical Details

Full-time job
Working out of AFLAMUNA’s office in Beirut, Lebanon.
3-month probation.
Salary range from 2400 to 2800 Euros depending on years of experience.
